Good News

A big money saving new regulation that will cut our costs - mostly health care.
It is the reduction of Interstate Transport of Fine Particulate Matter and Ozone starting in 2012. This is mostly about the downwind pollution by coal fired power plants that emit large amounts particulates, NO2 and SO2 that make it difficult for downwind states to comply with clean air regulations.

These are annual savings! The benefits exceed the cost of implementation by well over 100:1. That means a relatively small additional cost - mostly to power producers and therefore their customers, and a huge cost savings for health insurance companies and health insurance customers.

It is ironic Wis where I live has been hampered with high emmission controls because of Illinois coal plants just across the border. So Illinois pollutes more than Wis but because of its Political Pull does not pay the price for its polution it lets the wind blow over Wis. (Pevailing wind is from the south) Hint here what state burns more coal than Wis? HMMMMMM Can you say Illinois? This has been an irritation for years.
